What is counted
Letters from any alphabet, digits, spaces and line breaks, punctuation and symbols. Uppercase and lowercase letters are counted separately in the summary and combined in the frequency table.
Vowels and consonants
Vowels are a, e, i, o, u and consonants are the other Latin letters. Letters from other alphabets are counted as letters only.
Letter frequency
The table helps with puzzles, cipher solving and checking how natural a text looks. In English, e, t and a are usually the most common letters.
Emoji
Each emoji counts as a single character.
Questions
Is Y a vowel?
Here it is counted as a consonant.
Is the count case sensitive?
The frequency table is not. The uppercase and lowercase counts are shown separately.
