How it works

What counts as a word
A word is a run of letters or digits. Apostrophes inside a word are kept, so "don't" is one word. Punctuation and spaces separate words.
Hiding common words
Words like "the", "and" and "of" fill the top of most English lists. Turning on the common words option hides them so the real topic words stand out.
Uses
Writers use it to spot overused words, students to check an essay, and website owners to see which words a page repeats. For keyword-style checks, set a minimum length of 4 or more.
Share
Share is the count divided by all counted words. When common words are hidden, the share is out of the words that remain.
Questions
Does it count phrases?
No, only single words.
How many words are shown?
The table shows the top 100. The CSV you copy contains all of them.
Does it work for Bangla?
Yes. Bangla words are separated correctly. The common-word list is English only.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Your text stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
