Convert Unicode Bangla to Bijoy

Some printing software and older programs only understand Bijoy text. Paste your Unicode Bangla and get the matching Bijoy text to use with the SutonnyMJ font. It works in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

The result only looks right when shown in a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ. In other fonts it appears as odd symbols and Latin letters.

How it works

  1. Paste your Bangla Unicode text into the left box.
  2. The Bijoy text appears on the right.
  3. Copy it and paste it into your program with a Bijoy font selected.

When you need it

Print shops, some design programs and older publishing software still expect Bijoy text. Unicode pasted into them can show empty boxes or the wrong letters.

You must use a Bijoy font

The converted text looks like random symbols until you choose a Bijoy font such as SutonnyMJ. That is normal and is not an error.

How joined letters are handled

Vowel signs that sit before a letter are moved in front of it, and the reph is written after its letter, as Bijoy expects. Joined consonants use Bijoy's own joined shapes.

Letters with dots

Letters such as ড়, ঢ় and য় can be stored in two ways in Unicode. Both forms are understood.
