How it works

  1. Press Start to begin a focus session.
  2. Work until the sound plays. The next phase starts on its own.
  3. Change the lengths below if you prefer a different rhythm.

The Pomodoro method

The method breaks work into short, timed sessions called pomodoros, separated by breaks. The short deadline helps many people start and stay on one task.

Automatic cycle

When a session ends the timer moves to the next phase and keeps running. After the set number of focus sessions you get a long break. Use Skip to next to move on early.

Keep the tab open

The time left is calculated from the clock, so it stays accurate even if the browser slows a background tab. The sound may be blocked on some phones until you have pressed Start on this page.

Time in the tab title

While the timer runs the remaining time appears in the browser tab title, so you can see it from another tab.
