Why convert PNG to JPG
Photographs and screenshots with lots of colour are often several times smaller as JPG. That helps with upload limits, email attachments and faster pages.
Transparent areas
JPG cannot be transparent, so any see-through part of your PNG is filled with a solid colour. White is the default, and you can pick another colour that matches where the image will be used.
Quality setting
The default of 92 looks very close to the original. Lower values give smaller files with more visible compression. For logos and sharp text, a high setting or keeping the PNG is better.
Not for every image
Flat graphics, logos and screenshots of text can look slightly fuzzy around the edges as JPG. If that matters, keep the PNG.

What happens to transparency?
It is replaced by the background colour you choose, white by default.
Is it free and private?
Yes. Nothing is uploaded and there is no watermark.
Can I reduce the size more?
