Toolstia / Exam photo & signature resizer

Resize a photo or signature to an exact size

Application forms often want a photo of an exact size in pixels and under a maximum size in KB. Pick a preset or type your own width and height, set the size limit, and download a JPG that meets both. Nothing is uploaded.

Drop a photo or signature here, or click to choose

JPG, PNG or WebP. One image at a time. Nothing is uploaded.

Check your form's exact pixel size and file size rules before you upload. The presets are common sizes, not the rules of any one exam, passport office or job portal.

How it works

  1. Drop in your photo or signature.
  2. Choose a preset size or type the width and height your form asks for.
  3. Set the largest file size in KB, then download the JPG.

Crop or fit

If your picture has a different shape from the size you need, you can crop it to fill the space, or fit the whole picture and add white edges. Crop is best for faces, and fit is better for a signature you do not want to cut.

Presets

The presets are common sizes: a 35 x 45 mm passport photo at 300 dpi is 413 x 531 pixels, a US passport photo of 2 x 2 inches is 600 x 600 pixels, and 200 x 230 pixels is a small form size. They are examples, not the rules of any one organisation, so always match your form.

Getting under the KB limit

The size in pixels stays fixed and the tool lowers the JPG quality until the file is at or under your limit. If it cannot fit, it says so, and you can use a larger limit or a smaller pixel size.

Good source photos

Use even lighting, a plain background, and for signatures dark ink on white paper. Photograph straight on so nothing is cut off.

Questions

Does this meet the rules of my exam?

Only if you enter the size and limit your exam asks for. The tool gives you control, but it cannot know each form's rules.

Can I leave the KB limit empty?

Yes. Then you only get the exact pixel size at good quality.

Can I move the crop?

The crop is centred. For full control, crop with the image cropper first and then use this tool.

Is my photo private?

Yes. It is processed in your browser and is not uploaded.
