How it works

Common amounts
Weights are compared per 100 g, liquids per litre, items per piece, lengths per metre and areas per square metre.
Mixed units
Kilograms, grams, ounces and pounds can be mixed, as can millilitres, litres, fluid ounces and gallons. You cannot compare a weight with a volume, and the tool says so.
How much more
Each product that is not the cheapest shows how much more it costs than the best one, as a percentage.
Beyond price
Cheapest per unit is not always best. Check expiry dates, how much you will actually use and quality.
