Toolstia / TikTok photo metadata remover
Check and clean photo metadata for TikTok
If you make photo posts or build videos from still images, the files may carry location, device details or AI content credentials. This tool shows what is hidden in each photo and exports a clean copy.
Nothing is uploaded. The work is done by your browser.
Drop photos here, or click to choose
JPG, PNG, WebP (AVIF and HEIC if your browser can open them). Up to 30 files, 15 MB each. Nothing is uploaded.
Cleaning rebuilds the picture without its file data. It does not change the pixels, so invisible pixel-level watermarks are not affected.
How it works
- Drop your photos into the box (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 30 files, 15 MB each).
- Read the report of what is hidden in each file.
- Download the cleaned copy and use that file for your post.
Content Credentials on TikTok
TikTok has said it reads C2PA Content Credentials to label AI-generated content automatically. If your image came from an AI tool that adds those credentials, they live in the file data this tool removes from the copy.
Labels can come from other places
TikTok also asks creators to label realistic AI content themselves, and it can apply labels for other reasons. A clean file does not replace that disclosure.
Images, not video
This tool cleans still images only. If you export a video from an editing app, that video has its own metadata, which this page does not touch.
Before you post
Check the report for a GPS badge. Photos taken at home or work are the ones most worth cleaning.
Questions
Does TikTok read photo metadata?
TikTok has stated that it uses C2PA Content Credentials to help identify AI-generated content. Ordinary EXIF is separate, and you can remove both with this tool.
Does this clean videos?
No. It works on JPG, PNG and WebP images only.
Do I still need to label AI content?
Yes. Following the platform's rules on disclosure is your responsibility whatever the file contains.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
