Why convert
Many places, such as social posts, slide decks, email and some upload forms, do not accept SVG. PNG works almost everywhere.
Choosing a size
An SVG can be any size without losing sharpness, but a PNG has a fixed size. The scale multiplies the SVG's own width and height, so 2x of a 512 px logo is 1024 px. Pick the biggest size you will need.
Transparent background
By default the empty parts of the SVG stay transparent. Choose white or black if the place you will use it needs a solid background.
Safe to open
The SVG is drawn as a picture, so scripts inside it do not run. Files that load fonts or images from other websites may show those parts blank.

What if my SVG has no width and height?
The size is taken from its viewBox, and if that is missing, a 512 x 512 canvas is used.
What is the largest PNG I can make?
Up to 8000 pixels on a side.
Why does text look different?
If the SVG uses a font that is not on your device, the browser substitutes another. Convert the text to outlines in your design program first.
