Toolstia / Spin the wheel
Spin the wheel to pick a name
Add names or choices, one per line, and spin. The wheel stops on one of them using secure random numbers, so every entry has an equal chance. Use it for giveaways, class activities, choosing who goes first or deciding what to eat.
—
The winner appears here after the spin.
How it works
- Type or paste your names, one per line.
- Press Spin the wheel.
- Optionally remove the winner after each spin to pick several people in turn.
Is it fair?
The winner is chosen first with your browser's secure random number generator and the wheel is then animated to land on it. Each line has exactly the same chance, no matter how long its name is or where it sits on the wheel.
Picking several winners
Tick "Remove the winner after each spin". The winner leaves the list so you can spin again for second and third place without repeats.
How many entries
Up to 100 entries are shown. Long names are shortened on the wheel but shown in full in the result.
Nothing leaves your device
The list is not saved or sent anywhere. If you reload the page the list returns to the sample names.
Questions
Can I get the same result twice?
Yes. Each spin is independent, so the same name can win again unless you remove winners.
Why is there no spin button for one name?
The wheel needs at least two entries.
Does it work on phones?
Yes, the wheel resizes to fit the screen.
Is the spin animation the result?
No. The result is chosen before the animation starts. The animation is only for show.
