Pressure converter
Convert pressure between pascals, kilopascals, bar, atmospheres, pounds per square inch, millimetres of mercury and more. Useful for tyres, weather, diving and engineering.
| Unit | 1 Standard atmosphere (atm) equals |
|---|---|
| Pascal (Pa) | 101,325 |

| Kilopascal (kPa) | 101.325 |
| Megapascal (MPa) | 0.101325 |
| Bar | 1.01325 |
| Millibar (mbar) | 1,013.25 |
| Standard atmosphere (atm) | 1 |
| Pound per square inch (psi) | 14.6959487755 |
| Millimetre of mercury (mmHg) | 760 |
| Inch of mercury (inHg) | 29.9212524019 |
| Torr | 760 |
| Kilogram-force per cm² | 1.0332274528 |
How it works
- Type the value.
- Choose the unit you are converting from and the unit you want.
- Read the result, and scan the table for every other unit at once.
Common values
1 atmosphere is 101,325 Pa, 1.01325 bar, about 14.696 psi and 760 mmHg. A car tyre at 32 psi is about 2.2 bar or 221 kPa.
Weather
Barometric pressure is often given in hPa or millibars (the same thing), or in inches of mercury in the US.
Gauge versus absolute
This converts units only. It does not add or remove atmospheric pressure, so gauge and absolute readings stay as you entered them.
Torr and mmHg
The two are almost identical (they differ by less than 0.0001%), so the converter treats both as exactly 1/760 of a standard atmosphere.
Questions
How many psi is 1 bar?
About 14.504 psi.
Is hPa the same as mbar?
Yes, 1 hPa equals 1 millibar.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
