Toolstia / JPG to WebP converter
Convert JPG to WebP
WebP files are usually smaller than JPG at a similar look, which makes web pages load faster. Drop in your JPG files and get WebP copies, right in your browser.
Drop images here, or click to choose
JPG images, up to 30 at a time. Nothing is uploaded.
The converted file is rebuilt from the pixels, so photo metadata such as GPS is not carried over.
How it works
- Drop in your images, up to 30 at a time.
- Check that WebP is selected under "Convert to" and adjust the quality if you like.
- Download each converted file.
Why use WebP
For the same visual quality, WebP files are commonly noticeably smaller than JPG. Smaller images help pages load faster, especially on phones.
Where it works
All current major browsers can show WebP. Some older software, email programs and upload forms do not accept it, so check before you replace your JPG files.
Quality setting
A quality around 80 to 90 is a good balance for photos. Lower values give smaller files with visible softness.
Keep the original
Compression cannot be undone. Keep your original JPG in case you need it for a place that does not accept WebP.
