Toolstia / Facebook photo metadata remover
Remove photo metadata before uploading to Facebook
A photo can hold your location, the time it was taken, the device and editing software, and sometimes AI content credentials. This tool reads that data, shows it to you and exports a clean copy for your post.
Photos are processed in your browser and never uploaded to Toolstia.

JPG, PNG, WebP (AVIF and HEIC if your browser can open them). Up to 30 files, 15 MB each. Nothing is uploaded.
Cleaning rebuilds the picture without its file data. It does not change the pixels, so invisible pixel-level watermarks are not affected.
How it works
- Drop your photos into the box (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 30 files, 15 MB each).
- Read the report of what is hidden in each file.
- Download the cleaned copy and use that file for your post.
What Facebook shows publicly
Facebook generally does not display the location stored in your photo to other people. Even so, the original upload reaches the platform, and the same photo may also be shared to other places such as a Marketplace listing or a group.
AI info labels
Meta says it detects AI images partly through standard signals such as C2PA and IPTC metadata, and it adds an "AI info" label. A cleaned file does not contain those tags. Other signals exist, so a label cannot be ruled out.
Marketplace and group sellers
If you sell items or post in local groups, remove GPS from the photos so that you do not leak your street through a picture of your doorstep.
Use it responsibly
Meta asks you to disclose realistic AI-generated or AI-edited content. A clean file does not remove that duty.
Questions
Does Facebook strip EXIF data?
It generally does not show the stored location to other users, but it still receives the original file you upload.
Will cleaning stop "AI info" labels?
It will remove metadata that could trigger one. Facebook may use other signals, so it is not a guarantee.
Can I clean several photos at once?
Yes, up to 30 images at a time.
Is it free?
Yes, there is no sign-up and no watermark.
