Toolstia / Days between dates calculator

Calculate the days between two dates

Pick two dates to see the gap in days, in weeks, and in years, months and days. Or start from one date and add or subtract years, months and days to find a new date and its weekday.

0 days

0 years, 0 months, 0 days

0 weeks and 0 days

How it works

  1. Choose between two dates, or add and subtract.
  2. Enter the dates.
  3. Read the result.

How the days are counted

The count is the number of midnights between the two dates, so 1 January to 2 January is 1 day. The end date is not counted as an extra day. Add one if you want both the first and last day included.

Years, months and days

The tool adds whole months to the start date and then counts the leftover days. From 31 January to 1 March it shows 1 month and 1 day, because one month after 31 January is taken as the last day of February.

Adding and subtracting

Years and months are applied first, then days. If the result falls on a day that does not exist, such as 29 February in a non-leap year, the last day of that month is used instead.

No time zones

Only calendar dates are used, so daylight saving changes never affect the answer.
