CSV to HTML table

Copy cells from Excel or Google Sheets, or paste a CSV file, and get table code you can drop into a web page. Commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes are all understood, and quoted values with commas inside them are handled.

Paste data copied from a spreadsheet or a CSV file.

How it works

  1. Paste your data.
  2. Check the detected separator, or choose one.
  3. Pick a style and copy the HTML.

Copying from a spreadsheet

Cells copied from Excel or Sheets are separated by tabs. The tool detects this, so you can paste them directly.

Quoted values

A value wrapped in double quotes can contain commas and line breaks. Two quotes in a row stand for one quote character.

Uneven rows

If some rows have fewer values than others, the missing cells are left empty so the table stays square.

Styling

Choose inline CSS for borders that work anywhere, or add a class name and style it yourself.

Questions

How big a table can I paste?

A few thousand rows work fine. Very large tables may slow the page.

Does it keep number formatting?

It keeps the text exactly as pasted.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Your data stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.
