How it works

Flat commission
Commission is sales multiplied by the rate. With 25,000 in sales at 5 percent you earn 1,250.
Tiered commission
Each rate applies only to the sales inside its band. The first band starts at 0, and a higher rate starts at the amount you set for the next tier.
Effective rate
For tiered plans the effective rate is total commission divided by total sales. It is the single rate that would give the same result.

Questions
Does a higher tier apply to all sales?
Not in this calculator. Each tier applies only to sales above its starting point. Some plans work differently, so check your own agreement.
Can I add a base salary?
Yes. It is added to the commission to give total pay.
