AI-sounding phrase checker

Some phrases show up again and again in machine-written and corporate text. Paste your writing to see them marked, with a count and a plainer alternative for each one.

This is not an AI detector and it cannot tell who wrote a text. It only marks stock phrases that are common in machine-written and corporate writing, and that people also use. Use it as an editing aid to make writing plainer.

How it works

  1. Paste your text.
  2. Read the marked phrases and the count per 1,000 words.
  3. Replace the ones that sound stiff.

What it looks for

A list of about 50 stock phrases and words, such as “delve into”, “rich tapestry”, “it is important to note”, “furthermore”, “seamless” and “leverage”.

Not an AI detector

This tool cannot tell whether a person or a model wrote a text. People use these phrases too, and a clean result proves nothing. It is an editing aid.

Why edit them

Stock phrases make writing sound generic. Short, concrete words usually read better.

Density

The number per 1,000 words shows whether the phrases are occasional or everywhere.

Questions

Can it detect ChatGPT text?

No. No tool can reliably do that. This only finds common phrases.

Can I add my own phrases?

Not yet. The list is fixed.

Is my text uploaded?

Everything happens in your browser, and nothing you paste is sent anywhere.
