Toolstia / QR code scanner
Scan a QR code
Upload a picture or screenshot that contains a QR code, or point your camera at one. The decoded text or link appears so you can copy it. Pictures are read inside your browser and are not uploaded.
Drop a picture with a QR code
PNG, JPG, WebP or a screenshot. It stays on your device.
How it works
- Choose Upload a picture or Use the camera.
- Add the picture, or hold the code steady in the camera view.
- Copy the decoded text, or open the link if you trust it.
Uploading a picture
Drop in a photo, screenshot or saved image. The tool looks for a QR code in it, including codes that are light on a dark background. If it fails, try a sharper picture with the whole code visible.
Using the camera
Your browser will ask for permission to use the camera. The video is analysed on your device and is never recorded or sent anywhere. Camera access needs a secure (https) page.
Check links before opening
A QR code can hold any web address, including harmful ones. Read the decoded address first and open it only if you recognise and trust it.
What QR codes can hold
Web addresses, plain text, Wi-Fi details, contact cards and more. This tool shows the raw text stored in the code.
