IPv4 and IPv6 subnet calculator
Enter an IP address and a prefix length such as 24, or a subnet mask such as 255.255.255.0, and get the network address, broadcast address, first and last host, usable host count and masks. IPv6 is supported too, with the shortest form of the address.

How it works
- Choose IPv4 or IPv6.
- Type the address and the prefix length or mask.
- Read the results table.
IPv4 results
You get the network and broadcast addresses, the first and last usable hosts, host counts, subnet and wildcard masks, CIDR form, class, and whether the address is in a private range.
Small subnets
A /31 has two addresses used on point-to-point links, and a /32 is a single host. The tool shows them as such instead of subtracting network and broadcast addresses.
IPv6
The address is shown expanded and in its shortest form. The network is found by clearing the host bits, and the total number of addresses is exact, even for huge prefixes.
Masks
A mask must be a run of 1 bits followed by 0 bits. Masks like 255.0.255.0 are refused.
Questions
What is the difference between mask and wildcard?
The wildcard is the mask turned upside down. Some router settings use it.
Does it look up who owns an address?
No. It only does the sums and sends nothing anywhere.
Is anything uploaded?
