Cooking measurement converter
Recipes use cups in some countries and grams in others. Choose an ingredient and convert between cups, spoons, millilitres, grams and ounces.
Volume units are US measures: a cup is 236.6 ml. A cup of flour is taken as 125 g, and other ingredients use common baking values. Packing and brands change the real weight, so for baking it is best to weigh ingredients.
How it works
- Enter the amount and choose the units.
- Pick the ingredient if you convert between volume and weight.
- Read the converted amount.
Volume to volume
Cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, fluid ounces, millilitres and litres convert directly. These are US measures, and a US cup is 236.6 millilitres.
Volume to weight
A cup of flour weighs much less than a cup of sugar or honey, so the ingredient matters. The tool uses common baking values, such as 125 grams for a cup of plain flour.
Weight to weight
Grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds convert directly.
Accuracy
How you scoop and pack changes the weight. For baking, weighing is more reliable than using cups.
